about

As part of my concept album, this track is to be sequenced between "Must I Try for You?" and "I Missed the Train". This song is about going to my Saturday music program at the Visy Cares Hub in Sunshine, named "UpBeat".
Throughout, there are voice samples which I secretly (illegally) recorded. Some of them reappear in the related musique concrete piece "The Chaotic Nature of the UpBeat Music Program". The piece originally had lyrics, but I deemed them too corny (a couple of years after writing them) and instead decided to use these samples.

lyrics

Jarrod: "Essentially...we're a youth music program, but, we just, at the moment we're just running industry workshop, writing bios, setting up a nice Facebook page and all that stuff. So usually from 2 onwards we usually have a bit of a jam, and stuff like that, so you're welcome to set up."

Da, da, da
Edward: "Did you AutoTune your vocals?"
Jarrod: "Of course I did. How else am I gonna sound like Drake if I don't?"
Edward: "Haha, I couldn't believe that was you until you told Bill!"
Jarrod: "Wanna drop us some rhymes, Edward? Freestyle."
Edward: "Uh, no thanks."

Jarrod: "Yeah, yeah, to come, so it's 12 to 25, anyone in that age group."
Justen: "12 to 25, understand that."
Jarrod: "Anyone over needs a working with children check. Um...yeah."
Justen: "Cool."
Jarrod: "Just so, we don't get rapists."
(laughing)
Justen: "Don't want that man."
Jarrod: "...to put it gently!"
