about

As part of my concept album, this track is sequenced between "I Missed the Train" and "Push Start".
The song is influenced by the music of Jandek. I played two acoustic guitars; one a steel-string acoustic in standard tuning (which was on my lap), and the other an out-of-tune nylon-string acoustic (resting on an overturned treadmill, and facing opposite me).
The lyrics were entirely improvised in a stream-of-consciousness style. Since I am not particularly good at making up lyrics on the spot, the music is largely dominated by my guitar playing.

lyrics

Well
Well, there was a fight outside my house yesterday
On Saturday night
Three people were arguing
One of them told to quit for the night
To stop the fight
She screamed "Help me!"
And the man said "I'll screw you into the ground!"
Twice my family called the cops
And no one came
The sky is black
And those people are under attack
Let us pray for the victims
And Christ spilled his blood all for you
Ha ha ha ha ha ha
I wanna die
Why did they put me on this earth?
I sit here staring at the wall
Isn't this the very end?
