about

As part of my concept album, this is to be sequenced between "The Fast Food Song" and "FAWM 50/90".
This song was written about travelling to Melbourne Central (mistakenly I wrote 'Flinders Street') to eat at Lord of the Fries. The recording here consists only of piano and vocal, as this is merely a demo. The song is composed in B Locrian.

lyrics

It was Sunday on the last day of the holidays
Travelled to Flinders Street to get something to eat
The train ride was a long way from home
I was travelling there all on my own

It was a rainy day in the city
I struggled through hordes of busy people
Kind of difficult through my point of view
Got lost a few times; didn't know what to do

Walking through the flames and broken cars
The place was so unfamiliar; almost like Mars
The TV over there was switched to MAX
And they were playing INXS

It was a rainy day in the city
I struggled through hordes of busy people
Kind of difficult through my point of view
Got lost a few times; didn't know what to do

I took the train back home, it was just as long
Headphones in my ears, listening to some songs
I was awakened to life in the big city
Well, looking around it looked quite pretty
